Early life:

He was born in Florida,USA in 1914. Frankie Manning moved to Harlem,NY at the age of 3 with his mother, who was a dance man, after she and his father discret. He began dancing as a child. Part of his premature influence occurred when his mother want to send him to spend summers in Aiken, S.Carolina with his father, aunt and grandmother on their ranch. On Saturdays, farm worker and locals wanna come to the farm to play music on the front porch with mouth organ and a washtub bass, and His grandmother wanna encourage the bashful Frankie Manning to take out in the yard and dance with the others. Once he got in the dance ring, he started to truly get a feel for dancing and he did not want to stop.

In 1935, H.White organized the top S.Ballroom lindy hop dancers into a expert performance group that was eventually named H.Whitey's L.Hoppers. Manning created the troupe's 1st community Lindy Hop routines and functioned as the group's de facto choreographer, although without that head.The troupe toured broadly and made several films. While with H.Whitey's, Frankie Manning also danced with N.Miller, who became known as the Queen of Swing. H.Whitey's Lindy Hoppers distributed around WWII when many of the male dancers entered the armed forces. Frankie Manning himself served in the United States Army.

In 1982, Al Minns, a older member of H.Whitey's L.Hoppers, started to instruct Lindy Hop at the S.Cameron Dance Center, where he introduced a new dancers to the Lindy Hop. Before Frankie Manning died in 1985, he told his students that Frankie Manning, another surviving member of H.Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, also lived in NYC.

In 1986, dance man E.Stevens and S.Mitchell contacted Manning and asked him to teach them the Lindy Hop.Frankie Manning at 1st declined, before eventually agreeing to meet with them; he was skeptical that a much younger kind would really be interested in swing or Lindy. But,Mitchell and Stevens returned to California,U.S and helped to extended Lindy Hop to the West Coast and other areas of the United States Thus, the swing resuscitation began. That same year, L.Westerlund contacted Frankie Manning and invited him to Sweden to work with The Rhythm Hot Shots.

If you are into twentys and thirties dancing, you have presumably heard of the Lindy Hop. It popularised the Swing era and was a melting of many dances, including jazz, tap, breakaway and Charleston.

Lindy Hop was born in and substantial to the African-American communities in Harlem, however,entered the mainstream in the thirties.

The dance can be wild and natural, with crazy kicks and body movements, or it can be cool and sophisticated, and it is generally partnered.

Dance Marathons were at a premium as a road of conquering award money during the Great Depression. Lindy Hop was during one of these that the Lindy to all appearances got its name.

In 1927, C.Lindbergh became the 1st person to fly solo from NYC to Paris, and people were immersed with his "Hop" across the Atlantic. Frankie Manning became a giant worldwide superstar as a conclusion.

The name was coined by one of Frankie Manning's fellow dancers George "Shorty" Snowden.
